LA BOUILLIE DE BANANE – LABOUYI BANAN’ – PLANTAIN PORRIDGE
This is a very, very easy breakfast meal to make. My kids can make this with no problem. In fact, after just giving my son 15 year old son the instructions, he replied with disbelief saying “Seriously, dad, that’s it?” Yes. That’s it. It doesn’t take much to make this meal. All you need is a blender, a medium sized plantain, an apple, cinnamon, lime zest, cow milk/almond milk and sweetener/sugar.
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
3 cups of almond milk or cow milk
sweetener of choice
Peel a medium sized plantain and apple with a peeler or knife, slice then place in a blender with 3 cups of water and a teaspoon of cinnamon. Blend for about 1 minute or until it looks pureed or mixed completely. Pour the mixture into a medium size pan on medium heat, add zest and let cook until it looks somewhat like a pudding. Then add the 3 cups of milk and stir simultaneously. Lower the heat to let simmer for 5 to 10 minutes and enjoy.
Sweetener can be added separately to taste.
